EGL Wardrobe Post Day 17!

Hi there! I'm still furiously kicking this challenge in the butt! I've never been great at blogging, as I'm mostly at a lost for how to word things or what to talk about. If you have any suggestions, please share them as I'm hoping to still occasionally post after the wardrobe challenge is over! Now on to the frilly things!

Day 17: Your Home-Made Collection (or indie brand!)

So in my baby-lita days, brand wasn't the easiest thing to access. My parents also thought anything over $25 for a dress was steep, so I wasn't able to buy much brand until sometime around the time I graduated High School. I used to sew pretty often however, and ended up making a lot of my dresses! I used to have more, but some I have since gotten rid of (including the super embarrassing ones).

This is the oldest piece I still have! It doesn't fit much of a petticoat unfortunately.

A simple blue underskirt. This was made to go under a bustle piece that I no longer have.

A high-waisted floral skirt. I have no idea why I put so much shirring in the wait, but at least it accommodates different sizing.

This piece was a final project for a sewing class I took! The pleats were a new concept for me.

A sunflower border-print JSK.

A kitten and Valentine themed underbust JSK. If you couldn't tell, I was quite the fan of pintucks.

As a bonus, here's a couple photos from a photoshoot I did with my sunflower JSK, straight from a daily_lolita post I made in 2012!

Do you make any of your pieces by hand? Do you have an impressive collection of Indie brand? Let me know what you think!

EGL Wardrobe Challenge- Day 12!

Hello again! Welcome back for day 12 of the challenge. I give you props if you've stuck around this long!

Day 12: Your Craziest Hair Accessory

Pancake Beret! I made this guy in 2015 for a convention. I wore it paired with Honey Cake for a pancake themed coord!

Unfortunately you can't really tell it's a pancake when viewing the rest of the coord, but it's the thought that counts, right?

Do you have a crazy headpiece laying around? What about an entire crazy-themed coord? Let me know what you think!

EGL Wardrobe Challenge- Day 7!

Howdy! It's a whole week into the new year and the wardrobe challenge now!

Day 7: An Item You Could Never Sell

Unfortunately I only snagged one photo of this bad boy this time around. Basically anyone who knows me in person knows how long it took me to get this goddamn pancake bag purse. I managed to snag the Honey Cake OP the year it was released, and the JSK several years later. Throughout the years however, I tried auction and auction again to win the Honey Cake bag. A couple years ago, I finally managed to snag this from an auction on Yahoo Japan and to my surprise, it was still new with tags when it arrived! Due to the amount of time I spent looking over the years, I feel like I could never sell this bag!

Do you have a piece that you feel like you could never sell? Is there a piece you've hunted down forever? Let me know what you think!

Wardrobe Challenge Post- Day 6!

Hello friends! I'm on to day 6 of the lolita wardobe challenge and still going strong! This post is a little later than usual because it took me a lot of time to decide which to choose!

Day 6: Your Favorite Coord

So just over a year ago, I invited my friends and family to The Brown Palace for afternoon tea as I did every year for my birthday. After tea was finished, the group was taken on a tour of the hotel as I snuck away to change my coordinate. They were lead into an empty room where my fiance and I held a surprise wedding ceremony!

Excuse the awkward face, I was trying not to cry!

I'll probably create another post later on and go more in-depth on the details since this is supposed to be about my wardrobe, but my wedding coord has definitely been one of my favorites! When you've been into the fashion for so long, it's sometimes hard to reach a level where you feel like you've coordinated an outfit fit for "special occasions" but I certainly felt special in this!

Did you wear a lolita dress for your wedding or do you plan to in the future? Do you have a favorite coordinate of your own? Let me know what you think!

Wardrobe Challenge Day 2

Hello! Day 2 of the Lolita Wardrobe Challenge is here! In case a refresher is needed, or if anyone wants to join in, here's the list again.

Day 2: The Most Recent Addition

I received Toy Fantasy by Angelic Pretty for Christmas this year from my husband! I'm not gonna lie, back in the day I really hated the toy prints that AP was coming out with. For some reason they slowly grew on me over the years, perhaps in a desperate attempt to recreate the nostalgia of the Golden Era of sweet lolita.

This JSK in particular seems to have more details than a lot of the prints I see from AP.

Besides Lyrical Bunny and Lilitomo-Chan, the giraffe is my favorite!

Even the waist ties are adorable!

Did you receive any lolita items from a loved one over the holidays? Did you recently acquire a love for a motif you once hated? Let me know what you think!

Cat Cafe Meet!

This past weekend, I attended a meet with my comm at a local cat cafe! It opened up last year, but I've been wanting to check it out for a while, so I figured that now would be the perfect time! There's a small admission to get into the cafe, but no time limit, and books and activites to keep you occupied while you're there, if you aren't too focused on the adorable cats! We chatted for a while, snacking on tea and local baked goods while doting over kitties and taking photos. An epic round of Life then ensued, with everyone paired up for teams.

My coordinate for the meet! I wore Vanilla-Chan by Angelic Pretty
Bonus group shot because everyone looked super cute!  Jamie was there too!
